here's an artist a friend of mine showed me: Kent Rogowski. his stuff is pretty great—one part whimsy, one part absurd, a dash of sadness. I really like his latest "bears" collection, in which he literally turned these childhood icons inside out. The depressing snow globes and romance novel paintings are also worth a look.
